Yamaha WR250F Features

The Yamaha WR250F is equipped with KYB(r) spring forks, with industry-leading performance and easy tuning for a broad range of conditions.

With carefully calibrated ECU tuning and the Forestry Service-compliant spark arrestor-type Muffler, the Yamaha WR250F is set to go wherever you’d like to go, whenever you want to.

The Yamaha WR250F’s distinctive rearward-slanted engine design, complete with a forward-mounted intake and exhaust system–features a cylinder head that integrates with the frame design to optimize weight distribution.

In addition, the inside of the engine comes with all the features found on the race-focused Yamaha YZ250F model: straight intake tract and aggressive cam profiles the high compression “box bridge” piston design with DLC-coated piston pins, and much more.

The Yamaha WR250F’s specific ignition and fuel injection maps are designed for enduro racing and riding. They provide an incredibly smooth and dependable midrange power that lasts longer than pulling power at the top end.

The Yamaha WR250F has an air filter in two pieces which works together with the Yamaha WR250F’s tuned intake tract length and a WR-specific muffler that enhances the linear feel of the drive and traction. Not only is the Yamaha WR250F muffler completely mechanical–eliminating the need to repack–and it integrates a U.S. Forestry Service-compliant spark arrestor.

The Yamaha WR250F features a massive, extremely cool radiator shared with the Yamaha YZ250F Motocrosser. In addition, it comes with a cooling fan to ensure consistent performance on the most challenging enduro riding.

The Yamaha WR250F is a lead-acid battery which powers a small electric starter system that can make it easier to restart the trail and provide convenience wherever else.

The engine is fueled by a 44mm Mikuni(r) throttle body fed by an electric pump with high pressure to ensure optimal fuel atomization and power to cover a broad range of riding heights and riding conditions.

Yamaha’s aluminum frame offers superior performance on difficult sections of terrain that are abrasive and aggressive and ease of use for long hours in the saddle. Frame mounts and spars were created in conjunction with the YZ250FX Cross country racer, which combines mass for the most optimal rigidity, bump absorption, and rider comfort.

The Yamaha WR250F sports a sleek body from top to tail, including a massive 2.15-gallon fuel tank. The body’s design is slim to provide a better knee grip and control, and the seat provides the user with more room to move around. The rear fender, too, is designed to be more rigid to make moving more comfortable.

The Yamaha WR250F’s top-of-the-line variable KYB(r) coil-spring fork with speed-sensitive damping offers exceptional control of handling and bump absorbtion with a mid-speed valve tuned for greater comfort at slower speeds.

The Yamaha WR250F has an 18-inch wheel in the rear to prevent pinch flats and offer additional comfort over rough terrain.

The Yamaha WR250F comes with a variety of specific upgrades for enduro, compared to the Yamaha YZ250F motorcrosser, such as the wide, full-coverage engine guard made of the composite, 18-inch rear wheel, a large 2.15-gallon tank for fuel with radiator fan, O-ring sealed chain as well as warning and fuel level lights, a sprocket for the rear made of steel as well as a high-mounted fold-up aluminum kickstand.
