Husqvarna FC 250 Review
Hailed as the highest-performing 250 cc 4-stroke motocross machine on the market, the latest generation Husqvarna FC 250 receives multiple technical upgrades for 2023 to retain its place at the head of the field.
Housed inside an all-new frame, a compact, lighter, redesigned engine features a revised Pankl gearbox ensuring smoother gear changes with a new quick shifter, further aiding upshifts, even under heavy load.
A new cylinder and CP piston increase the compression ratio to 14.5:1 for improved torque and peak performance on the track.
Completing the changes for 2023, striking white, yellow, and grey graphics are applied using in-mold technology for an outstanding and long-lasting finish.
Husqvarna’s 250cc four-stroke motorcycle made its debut in showrooms at the end of 2021 with substantial suspension improvements, which were popular most of the time.
For 2023 the list of modifications that will be made for this model FC 250 is rather short. The Brembo hydraulic gearbox replaces Magura’s old Magura unit, while the new graphic designs for the radiator shroud and blue guards for the front of the bike make it stand out from the model released last year.
Although this Husqvarna FC 250 shares most of its components with the KTM 250 SX-F, The white Austrian’s chassis design is a bit different and distinctive. The bike’s ride and seat are lower but not by much in terms of performance.
With a seat foam that is 10mm lower and a 10mm drop in suspension height both front and rearwards, the Husqvarna’s total ride height is lower than KTM and its rivals.
Furthermore, the suspension settings are a little less bouncy than KTM’s, which can amount to an inch or lower seat height when riding.
It’s a great option for those with a smaller stature and assists with corners in certain aspects. Although this isn’t a loss of performance, it’s also a plus to many experienced and maybe novice riders moving from a full-sized trail bike such as the Honda CRF250F or Yamaha TT-R230.
